Hey remember that one time that I didn’t post a new blog post for like 3 weeks? Yeah, well this is what I spent my time doing! I got a HUGE custom order at the Etsy event for 4 scarves and 12 ombré napkins.

The first one is a hand-dyed yellow bamboo and cotton summer weight scarf with a twill pattern and twisted fringe:

The second one is for a young girl who wanted pale pinks, purples, and yellow- oh and of course, sequins! This is 10/2 cotton and super lightweight as well. The sequins are hand sewn to both ends.

The third one is 10/2 and 5/2 cotton that is hand-dyed in various shades of blue.

The last one is a combination of browns and tans all hand dyed and also 10/2 and 5/2 cotton. This is a twill weave with hand twisted fringe.

Lastly, I had to make 12 cotton napkins that I dyed darker at one end to achieve the ombré effect.

I am SUPER happy with how everything turned out- even though it ended up being way more work that I expected. I had to re-dye and re-weave the yellow and pink/purple scarves and the brown/tan one I had to re-do twice! I also had to order softer yarn because the cotton wasn’t always soft enough! I do have 6 extra cotton napkins to sell on Etsy so that worked out :)

Summer is almost here!

And do you know what that means?! CAMP TIME! That’s right! I decided to go back to the heart of the wooded mountain and will be leaving on May 26th and staying for 8 weeks! That means 8 more weeks of:

Wrangling snakes,

Dinners on leave,

So. Many. Cookies,

Beautiful views,

Mountains,

Weaving,

Birthday cakes,

Spiders,

Late night snacks,

The Chocolate Lounge,

Geocaching,

Overflowing mixing bowls,

Candy, soda, and BANQUETS,

Did I mention sunsets?!

Impulse decisions,

Sliding down rocks into freezing cold water,

Photo opportunities,

Blindfolded tie-dying,

Waffles,

Fairy houses,

Spirit fires!

Not to mention all the great new friends, laughs, and memories that we’ll be making together this summer.

Only 10 more days!

Ingrid Michaelson and Kittens!

Sorry I’ve been MIA lately- I have been SOO busy! I’ve been weaving scarves, dying napkins, playing with kittens, and Monday night I went to see Ingrid Michaelson with Lindsay! The show was AMAZING. If she didn’t have the voice, she easily could have been a comedian. She is HILARIOUS and just has an overall fantastic stage presence. The show was done really well too, a great mix of oldies and newer songs with and without her band and backup singers. She also swapped between piano, guitar, ukulele, and just singing. Oh- and a fun fact: when she was singing Why Do Fools Fall in Love, someone in the audience got down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend! (She said yes!) So Ingrid dedicated the next song to them. It was sappy and romantic and such an amazing show. If you EVER have the chance to see Ingrid live– DO IT!

Oh, so did I mention kittens?! YES! Lindsay has adopted 2 of the most adorable baby kitties ever! Prepare to D’aww your hearts out!! Felix is the bigger one, but he’s only older by about 2 weeks! Alice (Ali) is the tiny fuzzy ball of fur.

Now it’s back to the weaving and dying! I’ll post pictures of the finished products before they go to their new home!
